This Programme will provide the students with the main techniques of Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation in Clinical Audiology. The student will also learn about the pathologies of the Auditory System and how to deal with Otolaryngology Emergencies. Contents related to special procedures in Clinical Audiology such as Vestibular Rehabilitation, Cochlear Implants and Tinnitus will be also developed.
A Central Auditory Processing Disorder occurs when the central nervous system has problems processing information that comes through listening. In this course the students will study the origin and typology of this disorder and its assessment and rehabilitation in both Children and Adults.
The biological aspects in audiology (anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology) are essential to understand the hearing process and provide a better hearing care to patients with hypoacusia. These disciplines are well differentiated in the course, which a specific teaching board for each area of knowledge.
NEW COURSE! – This Course will address the educational needs of hearing impaired students and the factors influencing communication in the classroom. The Course also covers the Importance of early detection and the fundamentals of Auditory-verbal Therapy.
In this course the students will study the main techniques of treatment and rehabilitation in Clinical Audiology (Hearing Aids, Hearing health questionnaires, implantable hearing aids, technical hearing assisstance, etc)
This course is aimed at professionals of hearing rehabilitation (audiologist, speech and audiology therapist, etc) who wish to gain knowledge on Hearing Pathology as well as managed Otoloryngology Emergencies.
This course will address all the relevant techniques for the management of the hearing impaired patient (diagnosis, documentation, communication, counseling, etc) and the professional aspects in clinical Audiology, all focused to the clinical practice.
This course will provide the student with the knowledge on special procedures in the assessment and treatment in Clinical Audiology (Cochlear implants and the difference between the adaptation in children and adults, tinnitus and TRT, BPPV). The Course also covers assessment protocols and communication strategies for hearing impaired patients.
Hearing therapy consists in a set of techniques which allow the training and rehabilitation of the hearing function. In this course the students will learn the fundamentals of these techniques and their possible applications with patients with hearing loss, as for instance children with Cochlear implants or hearing aids. As a special feature the student will study a follow-up video analyzing the evolution of a hearing impaired child.
