Ocular Biometry is the speciality dedicated to establish the different ocular parameters required in the diagnosis of certain pathologies, particularly used in the ocular preoperative phase. In this course, the student will review the different equations that have been used for the calculation of intraocular lenses and the last techniques applied. The student will use the OSLO software from a theoretical and practical perspective.
Ocular Motility and Binocular Vision rely on proper coordination of different anatomical parameters as well as extraocular muscular enervation. We will have a thorough review of the eye anatomy as an introduction as well as a diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of the different disorders related to Ocular Motility and Binocular Vision.
The paediatric population forms an age group with specific visual needs. In this Course the student will learn assessment tests and specific treatment programmes including a great number of disorders. The student will also learn the main differences between treating an adult patient or infants and children.
This Course prepares the student for the Clinical Practice in Low Vision and Visual Rehabilitation. All the low vision techniques and the different treatments in Visual rehabilitation including the application of newest technologies will be studied.
This Course states the key aspects to consider in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of the different types of Amblyopia, Strabismus and Oculomotor dysfunctions. The student will apply the knowledge acquired in the Course performing clinical cases related to these disorders.
Refractive Surgery is a Vision Care field in constant growth. This course will expand and update the students´ knowledge about this field including the latest techniques and methods currently used in the clinical practice.
